The Australian Institute of Family Studies has been commissioned by the Federal Attorney-General's Department to undertake this project, which aims to develop a better understanding of the experiences of children and young people following the separation of their parents and the extent to which their needs are met by the existing services within family law system. We have received ethical clearance for this study from the AIFS Ethics Committee.
The study involves face-to-face interviews with children and young people (aged 10-17 years), along with a short telephone interview with one of their parents. Both Parent and Child are provided with vouchers for their participation.
