Centacare New England North West (NENW) is a quality accredited not-for-profit organisation which has been operating across the health, welfare and community services sectors for over 10 years. Centacare NENW offers a wide range of programs and provides a significant portion of mental health and family based services in the New England region. With many services and programs to support community members we offer psychological and counselling services, family dispute resolution (mediation), parenting and family relationship education courses, mental health programs for children, young people and adults and the Personal Helpers and Mentors (PHaMs) program.
Centacare NENW is the lead agency for the Family Support Program (FSP) which incorporates the Family Relationship Centre (FRC) as well as the Tamworth headspace centre. Centacare NENW aims to provide information, education and referral pathways to individuals, families and carers.
Our staff are active members of various community and reference groups within the region and participate regularly in pilot programs and community events.
We have offices in six locations over the New England North West region including Tamworth, Armidale, Moree, Narrabri, Inverell and Walgett. Our team of psychologists, counsellors, case workers, mediators, mentors and educators travel to many regional areas providing valuable services to our clients and community members in remote locations. Our team includes an Aboriginal Liaison Officer and a Cultural and Linguistically Diverse Liaison Officer (CALD) who provide additional support to the Aboriginal and CALD members of the region.
All staff employed by Centacare NENW adhere to the confidentiality requirements specified in the governing legislation, and work in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988.
*Accreditation was received from Quality Management Services (QMS) in 2012, this indicates that Centacare NENW has met the relevant Standards of the Community Services industry in accordance with the Quality Improvement Council.
