Is this the right support?
The Disrupting Family Violence program provides structured support for:
- men referred due to concerns about their behaviour
- partners affected by domestic and family violence
- children and family members connected to the situation
This program may be appropriate if you have been referred by:
- a court
- a legal practitioner
- police
- a community service
Men can also self-refer to this program.
Suitability is assessed prior to participation.

How it works
The program includes two components.
Family Safety Worker
A Family Safety Worker provides:
- direct contact with partners
- safety planning
- information and education
- referrals to additional services
- indirect support for children and family members
Men’s Behaviour Change Program
This program works directly with men over approximately six months.
It includes:
- individual assessment
- one-to-one sessions
- a 20-session group program
- case work support throughout participation
Program requirements and expectations are explained during intake.

- Men referred due to behaviour concerns
- Partners affected by domestic and family violence
- Families referred through courts or services
Participation is subject to assessment.

Practical details
Duration
Approximately six months for the Men’s Behaviour Change Program.
Structure
Combination of individual sessions and a structured 20-session group program.

Tamworth, Gunnedah, Armidale, Inverell, Moree and Narrabri
Fees
PSCP some courses are free, some have a charge based on an income test
Confidentiality
Participation is confidential except where disclosure is required by law or where there are safety concerns such as risk of harm.

Proof & documentation
Documentation of participation may be provided where required once program requirements are met.
If documentation is needed for a court or agency, this should be discussed during intake.
