OUR HISTORY

Building on a tradition of Catholic care, proudly supporting everyone in our community

Centacare has grown to provide a range of family, youth and community services that respond to the changing needs of local communities.

Whilst we are a Catholic agency, we are proud to provide these services to everyone, regardless of religion, circumstance, ethnicity, economic situation, age, gender or ability.

Today Centacare continues to build on this foundation by providing practical support in local towns across the region, that strengthens families and communities and supports people’s spiritual, social and emotional wellbeing.

Centacare's mission

In response to the Gospel call to “love your neighbour”, Centacare New England North West provides social services to enable individuals, families and communities in the Catholic Diocese of Armidale to reach their potential and enjoy the fullness of life.

We recognise the diversity of the communities we serve and aim to ensure services are accessible to people from different cultural backgrounds, identities, life circumstances and religious beliefs.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands and waterways where Centacare’s services and facilities are located and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. And we would like to extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Australia.
